Does a judge consistently score a particular corps higher or lower than
their peers? Each judge's score for a corps is compared only against the
other corps that judge scored on the same night,
then measured against every other judge of the same caption
who scored that corps. Scope: World Class corps, 2013–2025.
How this is measured & how to read it
1. Within-show normalization.
At each event, a judge scores the whole competing field for their caption.
Those scores become z-scores across that field, so a value means how far
above or below the night's field a corps was placed, removing score
inflation, scale, and judge generosity. Scores are never compared across events.
2. Accounting for an exceptional (or off) night.
A corps that is genuinely on one night scores high in every
caption that night, and a flat night drags them all down. So a single
standout or poor performance is removed before anything is compared: each
score is taken relative to how the rest of that night's
panel saw the same corps. We subtract the corps's average standing
across its other captions that same evening (leave-one-out). What remains is
how far this judge departed from the corps's own level that night. Because
this is done per night and then averaged over many performances, one great
or terrible show cancels out instead of looking like a tendency.
3. Isolating the judge from the corps.
A corps may simply be strong in a caption. So each judge's night-adjusted
values for a corps are compared to the pooled values that all other
judges of the same caption gave that corps. The gap, the
tendency figure, is the judge-specific
lean with both the corps's true ability and its good/bad nights netted out.
4. Significance.
Each judge–corps–caption cell is tested with a Welch t-test against the
other-judge distribution (min 3 scorings each side).
Significant = passes a strict Bonferroni
correction for the number of cells tested; nominal = p<0.05.
Reading the tendency: a tendency of +1.0 means that,
relative to the corps's own level each night, this judge placed them about a
standard deviation higher than peers of the same caption did. Positive favors
the corps; negative marks it down.
A persistent gap is a measurable tendency, not proof of intent. It can also reflect
a consistent difference in what a judge rewards.

Form 990 figures are public record and cover the whole legal entity, so a nonprofit that runs
more than one ensemble reports organisation-wide totals. Corps do not share a fiscal calendar;
with no year selected each corps shows its own most recent filed year. Short transition periods
caused by a change of fiscal year end are excluded from this table. Click a row for the full history.

November 4, 2026
- Improved The welcome page now opens with the most recent World Class recap, scores and all, instead of a description of the site. The numbers under it (results, shows, corps and seasons on file) are live counts from the database.
- Fixed Links straight to a corps page, such as dutdut.dev/corps/Blue Devils, now open that corps instead of a blank home page. A link with a shortened name like /corps/blue-devils finds the right corps too.
- Improved The emoji that stood in for icons across the home page, the dashboard, the hype tables and every "nothing here yet" message have been replaced with the same line icons the sidebar uses, so they look the same on every phone and computer.
October 30, 2026
- Fixed All-age corps are now listed in All Age Class on the Scores and Leaderboard pages for 2024, 2025 and 2026. Reading Buccaneers, Hawthorne Caballeros, Bushwackers and the other all-age corps had been filed under World Class or Open Class at many shows, so they appeared in the wrong standings, and some 2026 all-age scores did not show up under any class at all. A handful of junior corps that had been filed in the wrong class at the same shows are back where they belong.
- Fixed Recaps from 2014 to 2017 with two percussion judges now show the second judge's real scores. At 52 shows, including every World Championship prelims, semifinals and finals of those years, that judge's column had slipped one place, so a sub-score read 19.8 out of 10 and the total 29.4 out of 20. The first judge and every other caption were already right.
- Fixed Recaps for 66 shows were reloaded from DCI's published sheets. At 52 smaller shows from 2016 to 2019 and 2024 to 2025 the captions had been filed under the wrong names, and at nine 2018 shows a single caption's score had been stored as the corps' total, so DCI Morningside showed Mandarins at 32.2 instead of 78.4. The 14 2026 shows with two judges per caption now show both judges' scores side by side. Six 2016 and 2017 shows with all-age corps, and 2017 DCI Minnesota, are still on the old sheets for now.
October 2, 2026
- Improved Activity results now appear right on the activity you pressed instead of in a popup in the corner. You get a clear Success or Missed label, what you earned in XP and coins, and anything you found, and it stays put long enough to read. Do a few activities in a row and each one keeps its own result, so nothing piles up. A new This session line at the top of the Activities page adds up everything you have earned since you opened it.
- Improved The Perks page is much calmer. It now shows one page of perks at a time, and opens on the one where you last spent a point. Tiers you have not reached yet and perks that are still being built fold down to a single line you can open, and a bar shows how close you are to the next tier. Tap a perk to see what it gives you now and at the next rank. Your active bonuses and the reset button are behind a Your Bonuses button at the top.
September 27, 2026
- New There is a new Repertoires page under Data, then Drum Corps. Search every piece a corps has played by piece name, show title, composer or artist, or corps, and narrow it by corps, years or class. Switch to Most Played Pieces to see which music corps come back to most, and tap a piece to see every corps that played it.
- Improved The Scores menu is now called Data, and the drum corps pages sit together in their own Drum Corps group, next to Bands of America and WGI. The All Scores page is now called Corps Scores.
September 20, 2026
- New A new opening screen. When DutDut loads, on the web and in the apps, the name now hits in two quick notes at 120 beats per minute: Dut, then Dut!
- New When you get hurt, a popup now tells you what happened, how long until you are back, and what you can and cannot do while you recover. If you have first aid, it sends you to your Inventory to use it. If you do not, it shows what the Shop sells and takes you there. Tap the 🚑 in the top bar to see it again.
September 19, 2026
- New A Pet slot in your gear. Pets are on the way: a companion that stands beside your marching member in the Character Generator. They are for show and give no stat bonus. The slot stays empty until the first pets arrive.
- New A Player's Guide. One page explains every part of DutDut in plain words, from Hype and scores to the whole Quest game, with a search box at the top. Find it at the bottom of the menu.
- New A small question mark now sits beside every page title. Tap it and the Player's Guide opens at the part about that page.
- Improved The How it works boxes on the game pages are gone. Each one is now a single line with a question mark that opens the full explanation in the Player's Guide.
- Improved Tap any achievement on your My Quest page to see what you did to earn it, the day you unlocked it and what it paid.
September 18, 2026
- New Play, a new page under DutDut Quest. Every part of the game is one tap away on a single page of tiles: Activities, Practice Room, Gigs, Tour, Clinics, Real Estate, the Shop, your Inventory, the Market, Crafting and the Casino. It replaces the Items, Activities and Casino lists in the menu, so the menu is much shorter. Pages you have not unlocked yet show the level you need.
- New Tiles tell you when something is waiting: full energy, gig pay to claim, a free Prize Wheel spin, or a raffle drawing today. The Play entry in the menu shows how many, and Home shows how many Rep Checklist rewards are ready to claim.
- Improved The Your Quest card on Home is shorter. It shows your level, your current mission and the Rep Checklist, and it sits at the bottom of the page. Next Up is on the Career Ladder page and your stats are on My Quest.
- Improved My Quest has one card at the top with your XP, energy, stats, coins and hype together, instead of two cards that repeated your level.
- Improved Less reading. The how-it-works text at the top of each game page is now one short line. Tap How it works to read the rest, and tap Got it to tuck it away for good. Activity, gig and clinic cards show the essentials, with the description behind the small i button.
- Improved Activities and the Practice Room show your energy on one line, with how fast it comes back, instead of a whole card.
- Fixed The level-up screen now lists what your new level unlocked. It was showing the level but not the unlocks.
- New Tap the Rhythm, a new game under Community. You are shown two bars of rhythm, you get a count-in, and you tap it back in time on a big drum (spacebar or mouse on a computer). Get it right and the next one is harder.
- New Your stage is saved, and a progress bar at the top shows where you are, what the next stage unlocks, and your best. Later stages bring syncopation, sixteenth notes, triplets, and time signatures like 3/4, 5/4, 6/8 and 7/8.
- New It costs and pays like trivia. You get 5 free rounds a day, then 2 hype unlocks 5 more. Every rhythm you get right pays coins and XP, and the payout grows as your stage goes up.
- New Set the metronome the way you like it, with the same faders as a Dr. Beat: accent, quarter, eighth, sixteenth and triplet, three click sounds, and a tempo light. You can even turn the click off and play to the light.
- New A quick calibration matches the game to your speakers, headphones and screen, so Bluetooth delay does not count against you. The Top players list shows who has climbed the highest.
- New The Lick Writer has a time signature menu. Write licks in 3/4, 5/4, 6/8, 9/8, 12/8, 7/8 or 5/8 as well as 4/4. Notes beam the way they should in each one, and in 6/8, 9/8 and 12/8 the tempo counts the dotted quarter.
- Improved Tap the Rhythm now opens inside DutDut like every other page, with the usual menu and top bar, and your coins in the header go up as you earn them. The settings moved to a gear button beside the tempo light.
- New Tap the Rhythm has its own mission chain, Keep Time. Play a round, get three right, reach stage 4, earn an S, then get one right in a time signature that is not 4/4. Finish it for a perk point and the Timekeeper title. Anything you have already done counts.
- New Two new achievements: Got Rhythm for your first correct rhythm, and In the Pocket for reaching stage 10.
September 14, 2026
- Improved The Weekly Raffle page keeps the money quieter. It no longer tells you how many coins the draw burns, and a payout is only ever shown to the player who got it, so past draws say who won the pot without saying what they took.
- Improved The raffle card no longer prints your odds. You still see this week's pot, how many tickets are in, and how many you hold.
- New All Bands and All Groups now show a logo beside every name. Bands and groups whose logo we have show it; the rest get an initials crest in their school colours, so the list reads the same either way.
- New You can hype a band or a WGI group right from the list, without opening its page. Each row has the flame button and the running count beside it.
- New WGI groups can be hyped at all now. The button is on the list and on the group's own page, and it spends a hype the same way hyping a corps or a band does.
- Improved Click the Hype column header on either list to sort by it, so you can see which bands and groups the community is behind.
- Fixed The band logos on All Bands were not loading at all. They show now.
- New All Bands and All Groups are split into pages of 50 instead of one enormous list. There is a page counter under each table, and searching, filtering or re-sorting puts you back on page one.
- Improved Both lists load a lot faster, because a page only fetches the logos for the 50 rows you are looking at.
September 13, 2026
- Fixed The Upcoming Events card on your home page showed blank lines where the band names should have been. The names are there now, and they link to the band the same way the full Upcoming Events page does.
- New Bands of America shows are on the Upcoming Events page. All 28 championships of the 2026 season are there, from the New Mexico Regional in September through Grand Nationals in November, with the venue, the dates and a link to tickets.
- New Every show lists who is performing, and each band name opens that band's page. Where BOA has released the running order you get the times too. Where it has not, the bands are listed alphabetically and the card says so.
- New A circuit filter on Upcoming Events, and a tag on every card showing whether a show is DCI or BOA. If you only follow one circuit in your settings, you only see that one here.
- Improved The performer filter on Upcoming Events now covers marching bands as well as corps, so you can pick your band and see every remaining show it is competing at.
- Improved Shows that run more than one day now say so. A Super Regional or Grand Nationals gives you the full range of dates instead of just the opening day.
- New Rewards you can see. Doing an activity, practicing, claiming a gig, a daily quest or a mission now sends the XP and coins floating up off the button, counts your balance up in the top bar, and flashes the card green or red. Every activity button rolls for a beat before the result lands.
- New Leveling up gets a proper screen. The new level ticks up, confetti falls, and everything that level opened for you is listed right there with a button to go use it. New career tiers and skill points show on the same screen.
- Improved A level-up shows the moment it happens instead of up to a minute later, and a failed activity now tells you the XP you still banked for the reps.
- New Real Estate is its own page now. Buying a home and fitting it out with amenities moved off the Practice Room page onto a Real Estate page in the Activities menu, which opens at level 15.
- Improved The Practice Room page leads with the practice room. Energy sits at the top, training is right underneath it, and the rented practice space moved below both.
- Improved Activities can fail again. Stats used to make everything a sure thing after an afternoon in the Practice Room, so a stat point now buys a smaller edge and no activity ever becomes a certainty. The easy jobs settle down quickly, the hard ones stay a real risk for a long time.
- Improved Getting hurt now costs you something. Your energy does not come back while you are recovering, so a long injury is time you actually feel. Recovery times are longer too, and they scale with how demanding the activity was.
- Improved A failed activity is no longer a wasted turn. Unless it is a critical failure you still bank a third of the XP, so a bad rep sets you back rather than wiping the attempt.
- Improved The hard activities pay a lot better. Running the full show or walking Finals Retreat used to pay less per point of energy than searching the bus seats, which was backwards. Riskier work now pays more.
- New Sneak Into Finals Warmup is the gamble of the game. It is never better than a coin flip no matter how high your Visual gets, it pays anywhere from 50 to 360 coins, and getting caught puts you out for three hours. Six if it goes really badly.
- Improved First aid got a rework. Every kit now takes off far more time than it used to, and the bigger ones are better value per minute, so buying up the ladder is worth it. You can use two recovery items on any one injury.
- Improved The Cortisone Shot does more for its price. It clears your recovery however long it is, and the next activity you fail will not injure you at all.
September 12, 2026
- Improved The explainer box at the top of the Your Book perks page is gone, and a lot of the site's wording got a light edit to read more naturally.
- New Global boosts. Buy a Megaphone, Stadium PA or Broadcast Feed in the Shop and point it at a corps: every hype that corps gets, from anyone, counts double or triple for a day or three. A Spotlight does the same for a single show and a Hometown Hero for a member's profile. Use them from the corps page, a member's profile, or the new Boost Board under Activities.
- New Rotten Tomatoes and Umbrellas. A Rotten Tomato ends someone else's boost early (they get told who threw it). An Umbrella held over your own boost absorbs the next Tomato. A boost can't be tomatoed in its first hour.
- New Bad Run. The opposite of a boost: for 12 hours every other hype a corps gets is lost. A Rotten Tomato ends that too, and a boost can't land on a corps until the Bad Run is gone.
- New Rivalry Week. Pick two corps. Both count double for 48 hours, the Boost Board keeps score, and everyone who hyped the winning corps gets the Rivalry Winner badge and bonus XP.
- New Section Rally, Double Down and Hype Overflow. Rally your section so every hype anyone in it gives counts double for 12 hours, make your own next 10 hypes count double, or raise your daily hype cap by 5 for a week.
- New Top Booster plates and the Blackout. Put your name on a corps page for a week as a Top Booster, and keep an eye on the weekly shop features for the Blackout: six hours where only one corps on the whole site can be hyped.
- Improved Boosted corps carry a badge on the Most Hyped Corps list, and the hype toast now tells you when a hype counted for more than one.
- New Buy a home. On the Practice Room page you can now own property instead of renting it: a Studio Apartment at level 15, a Townhouse, a Converted Loft, a Lakeside Estate, and at level 45 the Mansion. A home is yours for good once you buy it, and every one raises your max energy and speeds up your energy regen.
- New Trade up. When you buy a bigger home you get half of what you paid for your current one back off the price, so moving up the ladder is never starting over.
- New Amenities. Fill your home's slots with a practice room, soundproofing, a sleep loft, a kitchen, a mirror wall, a home gym, a sprung drill floor, a recording booth, a hot tub, an ensemble hall, a lap pool or a screening room. Each one can be upgraded up to three times, and bigger homes hold more of them.
- New Weekly upkeep. Owning a place costs coins every week. Miss a week and the home goes dormant, which switches its bonuses off until you settle up, but you never lose the home itself and you are never billed for the weeks you missed.
- Improved Renting now stops at the Rehearsal Hall. The Studio and the Penthouse Loft are bought as homes instead. If you already rent one you keep it until you move.
September 9, 2026
- New Perks, the skill tree. It opens at level 10. You earn a skill point every 5 levels (counted for the levels you already have), and stat milestones at 100, 250 and 500 add more, with missions to come. Spend them on three shared pages, Technique, Tour Life and Showmanship, and on your section's own page: faster practice, better activity odds, cheaper energy, bigger gig pay, shorter travel and clinics, extra market slots, lower market fees, stronger Solo Battles, more hype, more checklist coins, and more. Tier 2 opens after 4 points in a page, tier 3 after 8 points and level 30. A reset costs Dut Coins. Find it under Quest in the sidebar.
- New Sections. At level 10 you audition for Brass, Battery, Front Ensemble or Color Guard on the Career Ladder page. Your section trains its home stat 15 percent faster and its off stat 10 percent slower, gives an extra 25 percent from equipped gear of its home craft, opens section-only activities and gigs, adds a section quest to your Rep Checklist, and hands you a chain of section titles as your career climbs. Your first switch is free; after that a re-audition costs Dut Coins.
- New Section leaderboard. See how many players march in each section and who leads yours, right on the Career Ladder page.
- New Stat milestones and titles. Every 25, 50, 100, 150, 250, 350, 500, 750 and 1000 in Chops, Visual, Musicality or Endurance pays Dut Coins or XP and earns you a title, from Warmed Up to Perfect Score. Pick the title you want under your name on the Career Ladder page; it shows on your profile.
- New Caption awards. Get every stat to 100 for Well-Rounded, 250 for Triple Crown, and 500 for Sweep, which comes with a permanent 5 percent XP bonus.
- New The Career Ladder. Open it from the Quest menu to see all 60 levels laid out, what each one unlocks, and which career tier you are in: Rookie, Vet, Section Leader, Soloist, Drum Major, Age-Out. Levels you have passed are lit.
- New Next Up on your home page. Your Quest card now shows the next level that unlocks something, how much XP it takes, your next career tier, and the next big feature on the way.
- New More to do between levels 11 and 32: six new activities that pay 45 to 90 XP, three new gigs (Stadium Announcer, Visual Tech, Touring Pro), and two new clinics (Ensemble Intensive, Elite Soloist Camp).
- Improved Your energy cap now grows with your career: +5 max energy every 5 levels, up to level 50.
- Improved Touring opens at level 1 with Indianapolis; each further tour stop unlocks at a higher level (Allentown at 7, Atlanta at 12, and on to Pasadena at 45). Clinics open at level 2 instead of 15, with the clinics themselves spread from level 2 to 28.
- New The Weekly Raffle. Buy tickets with Dut Coins on the new Weekly Raffle page (next to the Prize Wheel in the sidebar) any time during the week; every Monday at midnight UTC one ticket wins half the pot and five runners-up split another fifth. The rest of the pot is retired, so every week's pot is a fresh one.
- New Skip the wait. Clinics, craft jobs and tour bus rides now have a "finish now" button priced per minute left on the clock, so a big balance can buy back time instead of sitting idle.
- Improved The tour bus needs fuel. Departing on tour now costs a few Dut Coins per minute of travel, shown on each destination before you go.
- Improved Crafting charges a small workshop fee that scales with the rarity of what you're making, shown on each recipe card.
- Improved Trade Market listings now expire after a week (your items come back to you automatically) and carry a 1% up-front listing fee. Your listings show when they expire.
- Improved Extra Prize Wheel spins get pricier the more you buy in a day, doubling each time up to a cap. The daily free spin is unchanged.
- New Tips. Send 25, 100 or 500 Dut Coins to a lick you love or straight to a member from their profile. A tenth is retired; the rest goes to them.
- New Sell your licks. Put a price on any public lick you wrote from My Licks; other members can buy their own private copy and you keep ninety percent. Bought copies can't be resold.
- New Lick requests. On the Licks page, the new Requests tab lets you describe the lick you want and name a price. Writers submit their public licks, you accept one, they get paid and a copy lands in My Licks. Unclaimed requests refund after two weeks.
- New Sectionals. On the Clinics page, members at level 25 with a strong stat can host an hour-long sectional and charge a seat fee. Attendees gain a permanent stat bonus sized by the host's own stat when the clock runs out, and can rate the host afterwards.
- New Rent a Practice Space. On the Practice Room page you can now rent a Band Room, Rehearsal Hall, Studio or Penthouse Loft for a weekly fee. Each tier raises your energy cap and speeds up regen. If the rent lapses you slide down one tier with a week's grace; the Garage is always free.
- New Buy orders on the Trade Market. Name the item, how many you want and your top price per item; the coins are held while the order is open and the purchase happens automatically the moment someone lists a match. Unspent coins come back when the order fills, is cancelled, or expires after a week.
- New Featured this week. The Shop now has a rotating row of limited-time items, sometimes with limited stock, that it doesn't normally sell. When the week is up, the Trade Market is the only place left to find them.
- Improved The Trade Market has a search box, rarity filter and sort options, and every listing shows the recent going rate per item and whether other players have standing buy orders for it. The Shop itself now stops at uncommon items; rarer gear comes from drops, crafting, the wheel, the featured row, and other players.

- Improved Licks you share to Facebook now play right in the post. The link carries a short video of your notation and audio, so it turns into a player in the feed instead of a plain link. On X the link now shows your notation as a large picture.
- Fixed Editing a public lick no longer leaves the old version playing on its share link.
- New The front ensemble joins the Lick Writer. Marimba, vibraphone, xylophone and glockenspiel are in the instrument menu, which is now grouped into Battery, Hornline and Front Ensemble. Write them like a horn part - tap the staff or type A to G for pitches - and they play back with real keyboard samples that ring out naturally. Accents work on them too.
- New Fivelets in the Lick Writer. A Fivelet button sits next to Triplet: pick 16th notes and turn it on to write five to the beat, or 32nds for ten to the beat, with proper brackets. Mix them with straight rhythms, triplets and sextuplets beat by beat in the same lick, and it works on licks you wrote before too. Press Q to toggle it from the keyboard.
- New Cheeses in the Lick Writer. Next to Flam there is now a Cheese button (a flam with a diddle on the same note), and it both sounds and engraves like one.
- Improved Pick a horn and the drum-only controls get out of the way: Flam, Cheese, Rim, Rimshot, Diddle and the sticking buttons are hidden instead of sitting there greyed out.
- Improved Licks now play right on the Licks page. Clicking one opens a player in place instead of a popup, and clicking it again closes it.
- Improved The player on the Licks page is just the music now. The instrument and tempo boxes are gone from it, and the empty space under the staff went with them.
- New A filter at the top of the Licks page switches between all licks and just yours.
- New You can delete any lick you wrote, from its card on the Licks page. It asks first, and deleting is permanent.
- Improved The Lick Writer lost its "My Licks & Browse" button, since the Licks page does all of that now, including reporting a lick that does not belong.
August 30, 2026
- New My Licks. Your own licks now sit at the top of the Licks page, drafts included, each showing whether it is public or private and how much hype it has earned. Edit takes you straight back into the writer with that lick loaded, and saving updates it instead of costing you a new one.
- Fixed The notation pictures on the Licks page were coming up blank. They load properly now.
- New Licks has a page of its own. Open Licks in the sidebar to see every lick the community has written, most hyped first, with a Newest tab if you would rather see the latest. Tap any lick to play it right there, and hit the fire button to hype the ones you like. You do not need an account to look around and listen.
- Improved Writing a lick now asks you to sign in first, so your work always lands in your account, and the Lick Writer has its own address. Lick links you have already shared keep working.
- New The Lick Writer is now a real notation editor. Pick your instrument (snare, tenors, basses, cymbals, or any brass voice), choose a note value from whole down to sixteenth (with dots and flams), and tap the staff to write. On brass staves, where you tap sets the pitch.
- Improved Licks are now one instrument each, the step grids are gone, and lick lists show which instrument each lick is written for.
- New Triplets and sextuplets! A Triplet button in the Lick Writer turns 8th notes into triplet 8ths and 16th notes into sextuplets, with proper brackets, and you can mix them with straight rhythms beat by beat in the same lick.
- New Accents and rimshots in the Lick Writer. The Accent tool marks any battery note with an accent, engraved and audibly louder, and the Rim tool writes snare rimshots with an x notehead and the real rimshot sound.
- Improved The Lick Writer now feels like real notation software. Hover shows a ghost note where your tap will land, a caret advances as you enter notes, and the keyboard works MuseScore-style: 3–7 pick note values, 0 enters a rest, R repeats the last note, A–G enter brass pitches, arrow keys move the caret, Backspace deletes, and Ctrl+Z undoes. The staff also lights up in time with playback.
- New Tap a note with the new Select tool to edit it in place: change the sticking, add an accent, turn it into a flam or rimshot, nudge its pitch or drum, or delete it. Undo and Repeat buttons join the toolbar, and on phones the staff draws larger and brass notes are placed by dragging: hold, slide to the pitch you want, and lift to commit.
- Improved Note entry now works exactly like MuseScore and Sibelius: notes are entered at the caret, and it advances after each one. Pick a quarter note and tap four times and the measure fills with four quarter notes. Your tap chooses the drum or pitch; the caret chooses the timing. Move it with the arrow keys or by tapping a rest with the Select tool.
- New Diddles! The / Diddle tool writes slash notation on snare, tenor, and bass notes (one slash through the stem) and playback plays both strokes of the diddle. It's also in the note inspector, so you can add a diddle to any note you select, and the D key toggles it while writing battery parts.
- Improved Simplified the Lick Writer's playback controls: licks now play through once from the top, and the loop and section-volume sliders are gone.
- Improved Rim clicks now sound like rim clicks (the old snare rim sound was wrong), and the Rim tool works on tenors and basses too, on every drum.
- New 32nd notes, and a dedicated Rests row. The note-value palette now goes down to 32nds (key: 2), and instead of one generic rest button there's a row of specific rests, whole through 32nd, each entered at the caret just like a note. The last remnants of the old grid are gone; only the vertical drum and pitch placement remains.
- Improved Shared licks now play like a real embed. The 🔗 Share button on any public lick copies a link that unfurls on Discord with your engraved notation and opens as a click-to-play player, and the notation now lights up in time as it plays, right in the embed.
- Improved Cleaner Lick Writer toolbar: note values show just their symbols with rests lined up right beneath each value, and the Triplet, Dot, Flam, Rim, Diddle, and Accent modifiers sit on their own line. Also fixed a bug where tapping the staff briefly stopped placing notes.
- New Sticking control for battery writing. A Sticking selector (R, L, R-L alternating, or None) decides the sticking of each note as you enter it. Sticking letters appear under tenor and bass notes too, and you can change any single note's hand from the note inspector.
- Improved The 🔗 Share button is now always in the bar, so you can tap it any time to copy your lick's link (it'll remind you to save as public first if needed). Hovering the staff no longer shows highlight boxes; the ghost note and caret are the only cues.
- Improved Playback now lights up the notes themselves as they sound, in the writer and in shared embeds, instead of flashing vertical bars on the staff. No grid lines anywhere, just notation.
- Improved Fixed the faint grid of vertical lines that overlaid the staff, so the staff now shows pure engraved notation. Also new: a ^ Rimshot articulation for battery, written as an x notehead with a marcato accent above, played as head and rim struck together.
- Improved The Lick Writer is now phone-friendly: on small screens the staff shows one bar at a time at the top with ◀ ▶ bar controls, follows your caret as you write, and follows the music during playback. The page also loads fully with no "tap to start audio" screen; playback enables once sounds are loaded, and the playback controls moved below the editor. Bounce-to-WAV and the timing diagnostics are gone.
- Improved Sharing a lick on Discord now shows a large preview you can play right in the channel. Saving a public lick renders a short video of your notation with the audio, and Discord plays it inline. No more tiny thumbnail.
- Improved The instrument picker is now a dropdown at the top of the Lick Writer, and triplets engrave properly, beamed in groups of three, each group under its own 3.
- Improved Lick Writer cleanup: the save & share bar now lives at the bottom of the page (licks are public by default), the note and rest rows are symbol-only, Select/Undo and an eraser icon sit at the top right, the flam button got its own grace-note icon, and selecting a note now focuses the whole palette down to a single "Modify Selected" panel.
- Improved The Lick Writer now looks like a page of sheet music. The instrument and tempo are printed at the top left of the staff, every bar is numbered, and the page carries the DutDut header like the rest of the site. The tempo box and Play button moved up next to the instrument picker, and you can type any tempo you want straight into the box.
- Improved Rests now work like they do in other notation software: pick a rest value and it stays selected, then tap the staff to place it. Pick a note value again to go back to writing notes.
- New The Lick Writer is open to everyone. Write a lick, save it, share it. Your first lick each day is free, and every one after that costs 2 hype. Editing a lick you already saved is always free.
- New Every public lick can be reported. If someone posts something that doesn’t belong, tap the ⚠ next to it in the browse list and a moderator will review it.
August 28, 2026
- Improved "Poke a Fan" is no longer one of the daily quests. Your Rep Checklist now draws from the other goals instead. Poking your friends still works exactly as before.
August 27, 2026
- Improved The daily checklist on your home page is now titled "Today's Rep Checklist (Daily Quests)", and each quest is a link. Tap a quest's name to jump straight to the page where you can complete it.
- Improved Tidied up the Your Quest card on the home page by removing the row of shortcut buttons at the bottom, since the quest links now take you where you need to go.
- Improved Audio Trivia and Visual Trivia now work like the other trivia modes: 5 free rounds a day each, and when you run out you can spend 2 Hype for 5 more. In return, every correct answer now pays coins and XP, and the old daily payout cutoff is gone.
August 26, 2026
- New WGI percussion scores have arrived. A new WGI section in the sidebar lists every group in the archive and lets you browse scores show by show, from 1993 to the present, with full caption breakdowns from 2013 onward.
- Improved The WGI option when choosing which circuits to follow is no longer marked "coming soon". Picking it now shows the WGI pages in your sidebar.
- New The Quest page now has a Prestige Leaderboard. See the top Solo Battle players of all time or this month, along with your own rank. Tap a player to visit their profile and challenge them.
- Improved Fantasy Leagues now rest for the off-season and return April 15, ahead of preseason drafts. Your leagues, rosters, and history are all saved and will be right where you left them.
- Improved Licks now shows your music as real engraved notation - a staff for every instrument, flams as grace notes, sticking under the snare line - updating live as you write - and you can now write battery parts directly on the staff: tap to place a note, tap again for a flam, a third time to erase. Public licks get a share link that unfurls on Discord and social media with your notation as the image and plays right in the page.
- New Licks (early access): write your own 4-measure drum corps lick for battery and hornline, play it in the browser, save it to your account, share it publicly, and vote for your favorites. Rolling out to superusers first.
- New Trivia now has a theme of the day: History Day, Repertoire Day, '90s Day and more. The Trivia hub shows today's theme, most Drum Corps Facts questions come from it, and on-theme correct answers pay bonus coins.
- New A whole batch of new achievements covering Solo Battles, the slots and Prize Wheel, practice, trivia, hypes, streaks, and daily quests. If you've already done the work, you'll unlock them the moment you sign in. Plus Collections: complete named item sets (like all three podium rings) for coin and XP rewards, tracked on your Quest page.
- New Check-in streaks! Opening DutDut each day now builds a streak. Every day pays a few Dut Coins, every 7th day in a row pays a bonus, and every 30th day pays a big one with prestige on top. Your streak shows on your home page.
- New The Prize Wheel has arrived! Find it next to Slots in the sidebar. Spin to win items, coins, and rare collectibles. Your first spin each day is free, and extra spins cost Dut Coins. There's a new daily quest for it too.
- New This Day in Drum Corps: your home page now features a moment from marching music history every day, with that show's top scores and a link to the full recap. It draws on fifty seasons of history.
- New Daily Quests are here! Your home page now has a Rep Checklist with a fresh set of goals every day: practice, play trivia, spin the slots, hype your favorites, and more. Each completed quest pays Dut Coins and XP, and finishing the whole checklist earns a daily bonus of coins, XP, and prestige.
August 11, 2026
- New Corps pages now have a Financials tab showing what that corps' nonprofit reported to the IRS: revenue, expenses, surplus and net assets for every year on file, going back as far as 2008 for some corps.
- New There is a new Financials page under Data that lists every corps side by side, sortable by revenue, expenses, surplus or net assets. Pick a year, or leave it on each corps' most recent filing.
July 19, 2026

- Improved In the Your Quest section, the Activities button now sits right next to Practice.
July 18, 2026
- New Corps pages now have a Superfans section that shows the top three members who have hyped that corps the most. Tap a superfan to open their member profile.
- Improved The Recent Shows and Repertoire section on a corps page now shows five seasons at a time, starting with the five most recent, with Newer and Older buttons to page through the rest.
- Improved The home page shortcuts now include a Trivia tile in place of the Community tile, so you can jump straight into trivia.
- New The Your Quest section on your home page now has an Activities button that takes you straight to the Activities page.
July 17, 2026
- New The Trivia page now has a monthly leaderboard that combines your points from every trivia mode (Drum Corps Facts, Audio Trivia, and Rudiment Trivia) and shows your own score and rank for the month. Points are the questions you answer correctly this month.
- New The Trivia link now opens a hub where you choose which kind of trivia to play: Drum Corps Facts, Audio Trivia, or the new Rudiment Trivia.
- New Rudiment Trivia is here. Name the drum rudiment from its notation and pick the right name from four choices. The first 5 each day are free; after that a set of 5 costs 2 Hype. Correct answers earn Dut Coins and XP and count on the trivia leaderboard.
- New You can now go Premium with a monthly or yearly subscription. Premium gives you five times the daily Hype, a higher maximum Hype, twice-as-fast Hype refills, and a gold members badge. It also helps keep DutDut running. Look for Premium in your account menu.
July 16, 2026
- New There is now a Home link at the top of the sidebar that takes you straight back to your home page.
- New A new Hype page gathers the most hyped shows and the most hyped corps in one place. Each list shows 10 at a time, with Prev and Next buttons to page through the full rankings.
- Fixed Your level sometimes showed as 1 on your home page for a moment right after it loaded. It now shows your correct level as soon as your profile finishes loading.
- Improved Long show titles, corps names, and other text now wrap onto the next line instead of running off the side of the screen, so you no longer have to scroll sideways to read them, especially on phones.
- Improved The top of your home page is cleaner, with a smaller welcome greeting and the avatar, level badge, and page heading removed.
- Fixed Some sections of the home page did not fit on narrow phone screens. They now shrink and wrap to fit instead of running off the side.
July 15, 2026
- New In the apps you can now pull down from the top of a page to refresh it.
- Improved The apps now give a gentle buzz on moments like poking a friend, winning on the slots, and finding a rare item.
- Improved On Android, the phone's back button now closes an open window or menu and steps back through the app instead of quitting it.
- Improved The apps now show a banner when you lose your internet connection, so it's clear why things stopped loading.
- New There is a new Analytics page under the Scores menu. It charts the season's top 15 corps: one graph of their total scores show by show, plus a set of smaller graphs for each caption. It opens to the latest season, and you can pick an earlier season from the dropdown. Each corps keeps the same color across every graph, and you can use the corps filter to pick exactly which of the top 15 to show.
- Improved On the Analytics page you can now break each caption graph down into its subscores. Every caption graph has a menu to switch between the caption total and its parts, such as Content and Achievement, or Repertoire and Performance for General Effect.
- Improved The top of the All Scores page now has quick links to Analytics, Captions, Awards, and Judge Tendencies, so you can jump straight to the view you want.
- Improved More pages now have their own web address, so you can bookmark or share a direct link to them and the browser back and forward buttons work as expected.
July 14, 2026
- New Your home page is now a personal dashboard when you're signed in. It greets you by name and level and gathers everything in one place: quick shortcuts to jump in, what's waiting for you today, upcoming events, recent community activity, trending shows and corps, and a snapshot of your Quest progress. Signed out, the home page still shows the most-hyped shows and corps.
- New Signed-out visitors now see a proper welcome page that introduces DutDut at a glance, covering what you can do with scores, community, fantasy, and the Quest game, with quick buttons to create an account or sign in, and the most-hyped shows and corps still shown below.
July 13, 2026
- Improved DutDut now fits phone screens better. Content stays clear of the camera notch and rounded corners on newer phones, and text fields and buttons are larger and easier to tap on touch screens.
- Improved Trivia questions no longer show how hard they are while you're answering. Once you answer, you'll see the difficulty, and it's now based on how often other players have gotten that question right rather than a preset label. A question that not enough people have answered yet shows as not rated.
July 12, 2026
- New Crafting now takes time. When you start a craft it uses up the materials right away and begins working; the finished item lands in your inventory automatically when the timer runs out, even if you close the page. Rarer items and higher-tier recipes take longer to craft.
- New You can run more than one craft at a time. The number of crafts you can have going at once grows with your crafting level: one to start, and another slot for every three crafting levels. The Crafting page shows how many slots you're using and a live countdown for each item you're making.
July 11, 2026
- New Once you unlock crafting, a Crafting shortcut now appears in the left menu under Inventory so you can jump straight to it.
- Improved The Shop link in the left menu now shows a shopping cart icon.
- Improved When you win or lose a Solo Challenge, you now get a notification either way, and successfully defending against a challenger earns you prestige.
- Improved The Recipes section has been removed from the Shop. Any recipes you already learned still work and stay on your Crafting page, and you still pick up recipes from the Workbench and clinics.
- Improved The Workbench now shows a saw icon in the Shop.
- New Crafting now starts with a Workbench. Once you reach level 5 you can buy the Workbench in the Shop for 1,000 Dut Coins. It is a permanent upgrade that unlocks crafting and instantly teaches you every common recipe. Until you own it, the Crafting page stays locked. Players who have already learned recipes keep their access.
- New Five new crafting clinics have opened: Metalworking, Electronics, Tailoring, Woodworking, and Mechanical. Each one runs for two weeks, costs 6,000 Dut Coins, and teaches you to craft every rare item of that kind from recycled materials. They appear on the Clinics page once you reach level 25, and as always you can only take one clinic at a time.
- New There's a new kind of clinic that teaches you to craft your own gear. Finish the Equipment Crafting Clinic, a two-week program, and you'll learn how to craft every uncommon piece of equipment from recycled materials on the Crafting page. It appears on the Clinics page once you reach level 25.
- Improved The Clinics page now unlocks at level 15 instead of 25, so you can start taking clinics earlier.
- Improved Equipped items and Display Case collectibles now show a border and glow in their rarity color instead of a plain green outline, so you can tell an item's tier at a glance: grey for common, green for uncommon, blue for rare, purple for mythical, and gold for legendary. This shows on your own profile and other players' profiles.
- Improved The Display Case is now a permanent account upgrade. Buying it unlocks it for good instead of adding an item to your inventory, so it can't be sold, sent to another player, or bought a second time. Collectibles you have equipped or shown in your case can still be listed on the Trade Market as usual.
- Improved You can now tap a member's avatar anywhere it appears to open their profile, the same as tapping their name.
- Improved On a member's profile, the Challenge button now sits next to the Hype button at the top, and the Back and Report User buttons have moved to the bottom of the page.
- Improved On your My Quest page, your Premium status and how many days are left now show at the top of the Level and Progress section, and your Dut Coins total now appears on its own line below the level indicator.
- Improved When you're resting to recover, the recovery notice now shows a live countdown in hours, minutes, and seconds, and a medical icon appears in the top bar next to your energy so you can see at a glance that you're recovering.
- New You can now challenge another player to a Solo Battle from their profile. Both of you need to be level 15 or higher. Winning earns prestige points; the loser loses all their energy and has to rest for an hour before recovering. Higher Chops, Visual, and Musicality make you more likely to win, and a stronger Endurance makes you less likely to get injured.
- Fixed The EDIT button on your profile's Display Case now opens the picker so you can choose which collectibles to show off. Previously nothing happened when you tapped it.
- Improved The Passive Boosters section has been removed from the shop. Any passive boosters you already own still work and stay in your inventory.
- Fixed Fantasy league weekly scores were coming out far too high. Team totals are now on the same scale as real drum corps scores, so a weekly total looks like a familiar recap number instead of an inflated one. If a week already looks wrong, re-scoring it will refresh the standings.
- New Items in your inventory and on the Trade Market now have an eye icon. Tap it to see the item's full description and how many copies exist in circulation across all players.
- Improved The Friends page now shows each member's profile photo and avatar frame in your friends list, your pending requests, and the Find Friends search.
- Improved Crafting's chance to make a bonus duplicate copy now depends on how rare the item is. Rare and higher-tier items are much less likely to double up (always under 5%), while common items still have the best odds. Your crafting skill continues to improve the chance, and each recipe now shows its own bonus copy chance.
July 10, 2026
- New You can now recycle a whole stack of an item at once. When you recycle, pick how many to break down, or hit Max to do the entire stack, and the preview shows exactly how many materials you will get for that amount.
- Improved Crafting now lives with your Inventory. The Crafting tab has moved off the Shop and onto the Inventory page, so items, recycling, and crafting are all in one place.
- Improved When you have a clinic in progress, the time left until it finishes now shows at the top of the Clinics page so it is easy to spot.
- Improved Recycling an item now shows a confirmation prompt that previews exactly which raw materials you will get back before you commit.
- Improved The Use, Recycle, and Send buttons in your Inventory now have icons to make them easier to tell apart at a glance.
- New You can now recycle items you are not using. Recyclable items in your Inventory can be broken down into raw materials, and you get materials that match the rarity of the item you recycled.
- New There is a new Crafting page under Shop. Combine the materials you collect into new items, with each recipe showing how much of each material you have and still need.
- New Raw materials come in four kinds and can be sent to other players or listed on the Trade Market, just like other items.
- Improved Your Inventory is now grouped into sections by item type, with consumables at the top and avatar frames at the bottom, so it is easier to find what you are looking for.
- New Crafting now works through recipes. Buy a recipe in the Shop, learn it from your Inventory, and it unlocks on the Crafting page so you can make that item.
- New There is now a crafting skill level that goes up every time you craft. Higher levels unlock tougher recipes and give you a chance to get a bonus item from a craft.
- Improved Your crafting level and progress now show on your profile, next to your stats and energy.
July 9, 2026
- New A corps profile now has a Season Show-by-Show Captions graph. Pick a season and see each caption drawn as its own line across every show that corps competed in that year, so you can follow how their captions changed from show to show.
- New There is a new Events page under the Scores menu. Browse a season's shows one card at a time, and open any show to see every corps that competed with its full caption scores in a single table. It opens to the most recent season, and you can switch seasons from the dropdown.
- Improved The Scores menu link is now called All Scores, to set it apart from the new Events page.
- Improved Event score tables now list the captions in score-sheet order with a single Grand Total, and add a Penalties column when a corps was penalized. Click any corps to expand its full sub-score breakdown for each caption.
July 4, 2026
- Improved The Scores page loads much faster. It now fetches one page of results at a time instead of pulling every score at once, so the table appears almost immediately. Sorting and paging stay just as quick.
- Fixed Using the Monthly Premium Voucher from your inventory now correctly grants a month of Premium instead of saying the item has no usable effect.
- Improved Premium members now get 3 extra maximum Hype on top of their usual cap, for as long as their Premium is active.
- Improved Your Premium status now also shows on the Settings page, so you can see it at a glance from either place.
July 3, 2026
- Fixed The Upcoming Events page no longer shows events that have already taken place.
July 1, 2026
- New Caption Awards betting has come to the Bookie. Bet your Dut Coins on which World Class corps will win a caption award for the season: General Effect, Brass, Percussion, Color Guard, or Visual. Odds come from each corps's caption scores across the season and lock when you bet, and winners are paid after the World Championships. Find it on the new Caption Awards tab on the Bookie page.
- Improved Bookie and Slots now live together in a Casino submenu at the bottom of the Activities section, tidying up the left menu. Click Casino to expand it.
- New Slots are here. Pull the lever to bet your Dut Coins on a three-reel slot machine. Line up three matching symbols to win, with triple DUT paying the jackpot. Cherries are friendlier: even one or two on the line pays out. Each spin is decided the moment you press SPIN. Find it under Activities.
- Fixed When listing an item for sale on the market, the item picker now shows the item's icon instead of a long string of text for items with a custom image icon.
- Improved The market Sell tab now shows all of your items in one table, each with its icon, how many you own, and its own quantity and price boxes, so you can list any item without picking it from a dropdown first.
June 30, 2026
- New There's now a Legs equipment slot, so you can gear up your marcher from head to toe. The Body slot has also been renamed to Chest to make room for it.
- Fixed Your profile photo no longer disappears after you upload it. It now stays put when you sign back in or your session refreshes.
- New Bookie is here. Bet your Dut Coins on whether a World Class corps will score over or under a posted line at an upcoming show. Odds lock in the moment you bet, and winners are paid once the show is scored. Lines start out wide early in the season and get sharper as real results come in. Find it under DutDut Quest.
- Improved Bookie odds can now be shown as moneyline or decimal. Use the toggle at the top of the Bookie page to switch; it defaults to moneyline and remembers your choice.
- Fixed Leaving the Bookie page for your profile no longer leaves bits of the Bookie page showing underneath.
- Fixed Placing a Bookie bet no longer incorrectly says betting is closed on open markets.
- New A Monthly Premium Voucher is now in the Shop. Redeem it for one month of DutDut Premium, and if you're already premium it simply adds 30 days to your remaining time.
- Improved Your profile now shows a Premium badge with how many days you have left, so you can see your status at a glance.
- New You can now mark "I'm attending" on upcoming events. Each show lists how many fans are going, with a tap to see who. Attending your first event earns you the new First Show achievement.
- Improved The Upcoming Events page now shows each show's full date, not just the time, and lets you filter events by a specific corps to find just the shows that corps is performing at.
- New Some items can now refill your energy, just like Hype refills top up your Hype. Different items restore different amounts (a chunk of your energy, or a full top-up), so look for energy refill items in the Shop to get back in the game faster.
- New Scores from the 1993-2000 seasons are now available, with the full caption-by-caption breakdowns, filling the gap between the early years and the modern era.
- Improved The Scores table now shows each corps' logo next to its name.
- Fixed The Caption Awards page no longer lists the current season before its World Championships have happened. The season appears once those results are in.
- Improved Popup messages after you perform an activity now stay on screen for 5 seconds before fading away, so you have more time to read the result.
- Fixed Profile photos near the 5MB size limit no longer fail to upload. Larger images now save reliably.
June 29, 2026
- New You can now send items to other players! Tap SEND on anything in your inventory to mail it straight to another fan. Sending an item uses up a Shipping Box, a handy new item you can pick up in the Shop for 100 coins. Your friends show at the top of the list when you choose who to send to.
- New Items now have a rarity of Common, Uncommon, Rare, Mythical, or Legendary, shown as a colored badge in the Shop and your inventory.
- Fixed A corps' logo now shows on its profile page even when you open the page from a direct link or refresh it.
June 28, 2026
- New Scores now update on their own. Each night DutDut pulls in the latest DCI recaps, with full caption-by-caption breakdowns, so the previous night's results are waiting for you the next morning, with no manual import. Corrected scores update in place automatically.

- Improved The Find Friends list now shows each member's level next to their name and uses their profile photo as the avatar.
- Improved Click a members-only link while signed out and you'll be asked to sign in, then dropped right where you were headed, instead of landing back on the home page.

June 20, 2026
- New The upcoming DCI tour schedule is here: shows with venue, date and time, ticket and watch-live links, and the full lineup for each event.
- Improved Opening an invite link now takes you straight to the Create Account form, instead of waiting for the score table to finish loading first.

- Improved Your Hype now refills on its own over time instead of only at daily login. It tops back up to your maximum over 24 hours (12 hours for premium members), and the Hype page shows a countdown to your next refill.
- Improved Notifications now shows your 20 most recent items to keep the feed tidy. Pending friend requests and pokes stick around until you handle them.
- Fixed Equipped avatar frames (Neon Pulse, Blaze, Gold Ring, Rainbow Spectrum, and the rest) now actually show their ring and glow, including the animated pulse, and appear on your profile avatar too, not just in the header.
- Fixed Your profile now saves automatically right after you upload a photo, so pending edits to your name, location, links, or role aren't lost.

- New Bands of America marching band scores are now in DutDut, with 50 seasons of data (1976-2025). A school's different recorded spellings are merged into a single band, so its full history shows up no matter which past name you search.
- New Friends have their own page under Community, with your friends list, any pending requests, and a built-in member search for finding and adding new friends. Viewing another member's profile now shows just their info.
- Fixed An expired session now recovers quietly in the background. DutDut renews your login automatically and only asks you to sign in again if that fails, instead of leaving pages showing errors.
We've also made a steady stream of behind-the-scenes improvements to keep DutDut fast and reliable.

Each World Class corps's chance to win the World Championship, projected from its current total-score form and updated as new results come in. Bet a corps to take the title. Odds lock when you bet, and winners are paid after Finals. The percentages are the model's fair estimate before the house margin.
Bet on which World Class corps takes a caption award for the season: General Effect, Brass, Percussion, Color Guard, or Visual. Odds come from each corps's caption scores across the season and lock when you bet. Winners are paid after the World Championships, decided by the same averages shown on the Caption Awards page.
